Cookie Policy
What cookies this site uses, and how to control them.
We keep tracking to a minimum. This site uses a single analytics service — Google Analytics — and nothing else. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social-media trackers. Analytics cookies are off by default and are set only if you choose "Accept" on our cookie banner.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are essential to a site's function; others, like analytics cookies, are optional and measure how visitors use the site.
Cookies we use
With your consent, Google Analytics 4 sets a small number of first-party cookies to measure aggregate site traffic (for example, how many people read an article and which pages are popular). These typically include:
- _ga — distinguishes unique visitors; expires after about 2 years.
- _ga_<ID> — maintains session state for Google Analytics; expires after about 2 years.
We have configured Google Analytics with Consent Mode: until you accept, analytics storage is denied and these cookies are not set. We use the data only in aggregate to understand readership; we do not use it to advertise to you or build a profile.
Cookies we do not use
No advertising or retargeting cookies, no social-media tracking pixels, and no fingerprinting.
Your choices
- Cookie banner: choose "Accept" or "Decline" when you first visit. Decline keeps analytics cookies off.
- Change your mind: clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser, then reload to see the banner again.
- Browser controls: all major browsers let you block or delete cookies.
- Google's opt-out: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Server logs
Separately from cookies, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and operations, as described in our Privacy Policy.
